Convenience Sarah LambSarah is the editor of the UK TechNet blog and newsletter. Hi Fran,Some might say that the term ‘Business Intelligence’ is a bit of an
oxymoron, others might claim that both are entirely dependent on the other so we thought we’d put all the latest information into one email and let you decide for yourselves. In this edition we have
an insightful feature article delving into the detail on high availability systems and focusing specifically on Business Intelligence. The article has been written by Chris Testa-O'Neill one of our
MVP’s.The article is worth spending some time on and we’d love to hear what hints and tips you have from creating your own high availability systems or from delving into BI.As always we have free
training to keep you on your toes, this time in the format of the free System Center 2012 training with MVA as well as this we have a discount on both the print book and ebook for Windows 7 exam
certification. (And remember that there is currently a 2 for 1 offer on certification exams!)And last but definitely not least! We have announced the winners of the “How to convince your boss to send
you to TechEd” competition. We had a LOT of great entries but only one person could actually win.The result of the competition is that you now have a cheat sheet to use on your boss to help you to
convince them to send you to TechEd!Look out for other opportunities to enter competitions, join the conversation and meet your peers via our Facebook Pageand Twitter account. We love hearing from you
and look forward to sharing your stories with everyone in the TechNet community.Sarah Lamb and The UK IT Pro Teamxyz@noemail.local Top TweetTweeted by @BlackMarble Some pictures from the

tracks. Chris is also a Microsoft Certified Trainer, and a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer in Windows 2000 and Windows 2003.Over the last 5 years I have observed Microsoft persevere with the
notion of Self Service BI over a series of conferences as far back as SQLBits V in Newport. The release of SQL Server 2012, improvements in Excel and the integration with SharePoint 2010 is making
this a reality.Business users are now empowered to create their own BI reports through a number of different technologies such as PowerPivot, PowerView and Report Builder. This opens up a whole new
way of working; improving staff productivity, promoting efficient decision making and delivering timely business reports. There is, however; a serious question to answer. What happens should any of
these applications become unavailable? More to the point, how would the business react should key business users be unable to fulfil reporting requests for key management meetings when they require
it? While the introduction of self-service BI will provide instant access to the creation of management information reports, it will also cause instant support calls should the access to the data
become unavailable. Read full article top storiesBusiness Intelligence for the Private Cloud - Part 1If you have looked at any of the new components of System Center 2012 you may
