eNews -December 2010Good Energy’s winter pricefreeze, finishing touches at Delabole, CEO Juliet Davenport reveals herChristmas Wish List and much more...Winter pricefreezeGoodEnergy was
delighted to announce this month that we will be holdingboth gas and electricity prices steady during winter. This comesamid the recent controversy over energy pricing sparked by an investigationby
energy regulator Ofgem and announcements of price rises by many otherenergy suppliers. The move to hold prices down is part of ourcommitment to ensuring that green energy remains more accessible. We
hopethat reducing the price differential between renewable andfossil-fuel-based suppliers will encourage more consumers to switch to agreen energy tariff, bringing the country closer to a 100%
renewablefuture. Read more about this story on our blog.   More goodnews for renewablesTransparency in the electricitymarket won a clear victory this month when Green Certification
wasrecognised as the key criteria for listing green electricity tariffs onutility broker websites.Following  an ongoing campaignby Good Energy, Consumer Focus, Britain’s consumer champion,
madethe decision that electricity tariffs, unless certified green by theindependent GreenEnergy Supply Certification Scheme, now cannot be listed on brokersites (like uSwitch and Which?) under the
category of ‘green’.The result is that consumers will be provided with a clear and simplechoice of the genuinely green tariffs on offer, as well as know that theyall meet a minimum
requirement. But best of all, in addition torequiring only ‘certified green tariffs’ be included in theresults of green tariff searches, the Code also recommends that greentariffs should be
listed according to the Fuel Mix of their supplier. Thisis an important development and we hope it will help to demonstrate thatthere is a clear difference between a tariff offered by a 100%
renewablesupplier – GoodEnergy – and some of the tariffs offered by suppliers whererenewables account for just a small proportion of their business and whichare really brown energy
suppliers at their core. You can read amore in-depth report of the result on our blog.   Just in timefor ChristmasDespite the extreme weather conditions, work has continued apace at our
wind farm in Delabole, North Cornwall. It’s just down to the finishing touches now and we anticipate thatall four turbines will be up and turning by the end of the week when theywill begin their
fantastic contribution to Britain’s renewablefuture. We invited children from a local school to write poemsinspired by the new turbines that are gracing their horizon, and our CEOJuliet Davenport
travelled to Cornwall to present prizes for their efforts.“I was really impressed by the thoughtfulness and general standard ofall the poems. I particularly loved a giant mural done by one of
thestudents depicting the Delabole turbines” said Juliet.Youwill be able to read the winning poems on our blog later this week so keepan eye out.    DearSanta...Thousands of
children up and down thecountry are frantically penning their requests to Santa for what they wouldlike to find wrapped up under the tree on Christmas Day. And our CEO JulietDavenport has joined them,
adding a few wishes of her own to Santa’slist. Alongside Sebastian Faulks’ novel ‘A Week inDecember’ and the new Kings of Leon album, ‘Come AroundSundown’, this is
what she’d like to receive thisyear:I hope the Governmentdoesn’t tinker with the Feed-in Tariff (FIT) and keeps its promisesto leave FITs alone until2013.I hope Energy MarketReform
isn’t a stitch up for some of the large technologies, and thefledgling growth of the renewable industry is allowed toflourish.I would love therenewable industry to stay firm, not squabble and be
supportive to oneother.I want grid average tobe abolished for calculating carbon and all renewables to be counted byDEFRA as zerocarbon.I hope that GoodEnergy’s core performance continues to
improve for2011.I hope Delabole becomesthe first of many new Good Energy windsites.I would love for ourFIT business to go from strength tostrength. And that Good Energycustomers become the examples for
the rest of the UK householders to aspireto.Head to our blogfor an in-depth Christmas Wish List from Juliet. And we will be featuring adifferent Wish List from a number of Good Energy customers,
generators andpartners every day up until Christmas.  Get into some GriffinBritishclothing brand and GoodEnergy partner Griffin,is known for its innovative mix of technology and tradition in
its designs.Modern performance fabrics and high-tech manufacturing techniques sitseamlessly alongside heritage fabrics and traditional tailoring styles, creating a unique range of clothing. While some
of theirmanufacturing is done in Italy because of the extensive skills and quality, the company strives to keep as much of its production as possible inEngland. And whether in Devon or Milan, it only
uses mills and factoriesapproved for their commitment to quality and ethical standards.Griffin pays the same level of attention to its herd of organic,slow-reared Middle White and Oxford Sandy Black
pigs, who live on LovelandFarm in Hartland, North Devon. In high-end fashion, quality (thelook, fit and feel of a garment) is, of course, paramount. For Griffin tocompromise on this and sell something
they considered below par would beakin to selling one of their pigs for a magic bean. In other words, itwould never happen. As Jeff Griffin, Director of Griffin, says:“A green revolution is
underway but sadly I sense the wordsustainability has become a cliché. However, it is the only wayforward. Switching to Good Energy has meant we work with a similar-mindedcompany who offers a
vision that is a real solution to the currentenvironmental problems.”And getting into the Christmasspirit, Griffinis offering 10% off all of its merchandise (including sale items) if youquote
