Thomas Cook – how not to do emails

It’s really no surprise that Thomas Cook is on its knees

As I’m sure you’ve heard, Thomas Cook is on the verge of bankrupcy. Having seen their recent email campaigns, this news is no surprise to me. Their emails really do make a good “Hot Not To” case study. Not to put too fine a point on it, the email below is pretty rubbish. I’ve added it to my “Hall of Shame” and here’s my blog about the mistakes they’ve made.

The subject line is “Getaway from it all for only £129 pp“. I found their email from searching through InboxVision’s “be inspired” Email Collections Gallery, a small extract from their Email Intelligence database of a million promotional emails & newsletter templates.
