The pace of business is rapidly changing, no more can we just make do with having a flashy website and a few ads to draw in customers. There is now a race for e-retailers to ‘mobilise’ and optimise their content for mobile devices. Our increasing consumerist culture expects mobile developers and e-retailers in turn, to increase the speed and richness of data flowing through these digital commodities. So here is some more trending data that should hopefully serve as a nudge to convince you to ‘mobilise’ and get your email designs up to speed.

With Father’s Day fast approaching (June 17th!) we decided to delve into our Email Gallery and pick out a great Father’s Day email to showcase and explain on why the email has worked so well.
This email is from the company NotOnTheHighStreet.com. The subject line: “Tell your dad he’s your hero” is a great subject line as it is short, to the point and holds a positive message. The use of clever copy and scribble aesthetic to some of the headings and imagery creates a nostalgic and generally hear-warming feel to the email.

Social media is vital in the B2C world. I’ve chosen an email from Kia to illustrate the power of a well-crafted email asking for a Facebook “Like” response. Here’s their subject line: “You’ll really ‘like’ what you see”. Social network community links are a necessity
Facebook and Twitter are fast-becoming essential marketing tools for brand-building, particularly in the B2C world.
Surveys show that 52% of all retailers use some form of viral mechanism – either SWYN (Share With Your Network) or FTAF (Forward To A Friend) and 88% include community links in their email promotions*. FTAF is old-hat now, and although SWYN uses “sharing” links to networks like Facebook and Twitter, most people are now looking to specific content within a particular brand’s Facebook page or their Twitter stream.
With this in mind, companies need to clearly promote their Facebook and Twitter pages. Read on to find out what I have to say about a particular “Facebook promotion” email taken from InboxVision’s “be inspired” email gallery.
