MINI get “straight to the point”

I chose this MINI email because of its simplicity in quickly getting to the point. The content of the email is an excellent example of a clear and direct call-to-action “Build your own MINI”. The subject line was: “Welcome to MINIUSA.com”. Why not submit one of your own email designs to info@InboxVision.com – be heard and join the InboxVision community – make sure you vote on this week’s email examples! I selected this email from InboxVision’s “be inspired” Email Gallery, a small extract from their Email Intelligence database of a million promotional email designs. Read the rest of this entry »

Naked Pizza wins the InboxVision Email Gallery Design of the Week Award

This Naked Pizza email is a great example of how to offer a customer satisfaction survey, complete with a dash of humour. The concept and design is simple and uncluttered – in this case, less is more. The subject line is: “Feedback, like pizza, is for  sharing”. Why not submit one of your own email designs to info@InboxVision.com – be heard and join the InboxVision community – make sure you vote on this week’s email examples! I selected the Naked Pizza email from InboxVision’s “be inspired” Email Gallery, a small extract from their Email Intelligence database of a million promotional email designs.

Halfords take advantage of the weather

Match your emails to the current weather or season

This Halfords email was sent out just before the weather changed from mild to icy. They had clearly been studying the weather forecasts and got their timing spot-on. The email combines a punchy subject line with a timely motoring solution to the problems of the recent icy mornings. Their subject line is: “Frosty mornings made easy!”.

Why not submit one of your own email designs to info@InboxVision.com – be heard and join the InboxVision community – make sure you vote on this week’s email examples! I selected the Halfords email from InboxVision’s “be inspired” Email Gallery, a small extract from their Email Intelligence database of a million promotional email designs.

Email Design of the Day – Monday

Simple and stylish versus bold and brassy

I’ve chosen today’s email from BMW because their very simple design has caught my eye – you don’t always need bright colours to get your emails noticed. Sometimes less is more. The subject line is poor though: “Happy Holidays from BMW” If your subject lines aren’t compelling, then you’re simply chucking your marketing budget away.

I selected the BMW email from InboxVision’s “be inspired” Email Gallery, a small extract from their Email Intelligence database of a million promotional email designs & newsletter templates.

Get sociable with your emails

Blatantly promote your social media content

Social media is vital in the B2C world. I’ve chosen an email from Kia to illustrate the power of a well-crafted email asking for a Facebook “Like” response. Here’s their subject line: “You’ll really ‘like’ what you see”. I selected the email from InboxVision’s “be inspired” Email Gallery, a small extract from their Email Intelligence database of a million promotional email designs & newsletter templates.

How not to do email marketing

Here’s a Renault email for my Hall of Shame

New cars are expensive and the competition is enormous, so car emails have to stand head and shouders above the rest. This Renault email is a real turn-off and breaks best practice rules in so many ways. I’ve chosen it from InboxVision’s “be inspired” Email Gallery, a small extract from their Email Marketing Intelligence database of a million promotional & newsletter emails.

Childish email images

Get your message across with child-like simplicity

Do you remember John Major’s campaign from the ninety’s to “get back to basics”? This was a highly-principled and genuinely worthwhile campaign to re-instate family values in Britain. It failed of course - it’s almost impossible for a government to use state authority to positively affect moral values.

John Major can take some consolation though - a “back to basics” approach can be very effective in the email marketing world. Have a look at a BMW email I’ve taken from InboxVision’s “be inspired” email gallery – a small extract from the InboxVision Tracker Email Intelligence database of approaching a million emails.
