How to draw creative inspiration for your digital campaigns:
It’s very easy to fall back on the “tried and tested” design ideas you’ve used in the past. What’s needed are fresh creative ideas and renewed inspiration for your own email campaigns (or your clients’ emails if you’re an agency).
Say for example you or your clients are in the IT marketplace, specifically computer external drives. Log into InboxVision and set up an InboxVision “Subject line keyword” Search for the key phrase “external drive” (refer to Top Tip #1 if you need a reminder of how to set up an InboxVision Search).
Then use “Thumbnail View” for an overview of campaign emails from the “external drive” marketplace:

You can immediately see three different approaches to email design:
1) Misco and Harris major on a single product, using a “salesy” style
2) UBid and eCOST use a multi-product design using choose from the “product board” style
3) LOGICBUY uses a dual product approach to their design, using a newsletter style
You may choose to develop three sets of designs using all three approaches. Or as an agency, you may want to impress your clients with a choice of styles and let the client select the style they prefer from your shortlist.
Also, to make the next stage of your email template development easier and more efficient, you can place your selected emails within an InboxVision Lightbox and email your creative team or your client a link to that Lightbox.
The Lightbox below shows the “single-product” designs on the first row and the “multi-product” designs on the second row:

If you continue with your InboxVision research, you will uncover many more design ideas, including: text-only designs; video and GIF designs; humorous designs; and much more.
Remember, fresh ideas and renewed inspiration for your own (or your clients’) email campaigns are just a few clicks away.
